Adding new text to be etched

Lesson seven: We’ve broken down all our helpful guides into individual sections so you can find everything you need with ease.

Know what you need? Let's start your quote.

Let's begin...

Our etching would most likely be covered by any secondary operations such as painting or powder coating and could be removed if the parts were run through a graining machine.

Upload drawings into Drawing Doctor and click ‘Add etching text’.

Step two...

The X and Y fields are the placement of the etching*. Hover the mouse over the area you wish to etch, make a note of these co-ordinates, input this into the fields and click ‘Add’.

*Please note etching must be at least 1mm from the edge of the part.

Another text box will appear below where you can amend the size of the text and input what you would like to be etched. The text will appear as you type so you can check if it is the correct size and placement.

Nearly there...

A green tick should appear if the drawing is error free. You can then export the drawing to the quote.

All done!
